Major Accident Hazard units are required to conduct Safety Audit periodically to ascertain the implementation of management system for occupational safety and health and improve it further. Due to the growing awareness of safety in the industrial sector and introduction of various Acts for implementing directives of the statutory bodies, a formulation of a standard for auditing safety system was felt necessary. The draft finalized by the Industrial Safety Sectional Committee and approved by the Chemical Division Council was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards in 1998 as the Indian Standard IS 14489-Code of Practice on Occupational Safety and Health Audit.
Mayra Safety undertakes safety audits of MAH/non-MAH units and support management throughout the process of compliance of the audit findings. It also undertakes audits of SHE related systems to ensure adherence to the provisions of systems.
