HAZARD AREA CLASSIFICATION

Hazard area classification is a most important part of PHA. It classifies the area of an industrial site storing (or processing) flammable chemicals and/or combustible powders into different electrical zones on the basis of  probability of a presence of  explosive atmosphere. A spark generated by instrument, electrical or mechanical equipment, static electrical breakdown or any other reason can result into explosion if it comes in contact with explosive mixture. To eliminate a possibility of any explosion, integrity of the equipment/instrument must be suitable to the respective zone.
